Did AMD fare better with TSMC in 2020?
6800 xt was 43% over a radeon vii

Did AMD fare better with TSMC in 2020?
The VII kind of sucked though, it's easier to show huge gains when the last card was a flop.
I mean did AMD have better volume than nV did?

Hopefully see second quarter soon.

who knows they did come into normal stock about two months faster than NV cards did
You're avoiding the question, that's ok.
According to data disclosed by Mercury Research, AMD sold approximately 1 million Ryzen 5000 CPUs in the last quarter of 2020
AMD Ryzen CPU Market Share Grew for 7th Straight Quarter in Q4 2021, GPU Revenue More than Doubled
4080 better be much faster (tho I think the 4090 will be first out the gate) for that TBP rating vs previous gen:

25-30% just wont cut it and 800w is just too much. I expect undervolting will be even more important than what we've done so far. FWIW leaks are quite a bit higher in the 60%+ range.
Little news on navi 31 tho. Not sure itll be that much cooler.

Bill, that's the older DirectX 11 6800 series! Good question though, would like to see how many did go to miners, too.
Nvidia's last card beat AMD to market by 3 months and had the same raster performance despite running at lower clock frequencies. It had the same transistor count plus on board RT and Tensor cores on top. It did all of this on an inferior samsung node and only used 10 watts more power while running 10C lower operating temps.

They built a better card despite the handicap and as such they had higher demand and sold more cards and made more money. Both crypto and gaming was Nvidia dominated. That is the way things have went every single time since ATI was purchased. The Nvidia high end cost more and the mainstream was competitive. I would say they did a great job. Only problem was the chip shortage which hit both companies and despite that and the higher demand Nvidia continued to have better availability and better sales. No point being stubborn about reality.
then the 6800 xt isn't on the list but the 6900 xt & 6700 xt is![]()

Sold so poorly that it didn't even make it into the %?![]()
Yeah, it's confusing! I'm surprised at the sheer growth of Nvidia laptops - the RTX 3060 laptop has more of a Steam percentage than the desktop Rtx 3060. Gaming laptops are getting popular.
