Hi

I just realized that what happens to GPU's it happens to the discreet audio card market.I buy my sound cards in the 200$ and above segment.I just look around for Evga Nu Audio Pro and there is no stock at all or it costs 686$ on amazon..The card msrp should have been around 330$
I found barely 1 piece Creative AE-9PE at inflated price at 450$ in my country..On Caseking DE there no stock of either cards...

Maybe look into an external DAC instead of discrete internal sound card?

I recently moved to a Schiit Modi and Magni and its been pretty awesome.

Nu Audio is already an external dac adapted as an internal audio card.I was thinking to upgrade to Nu audio pro for even better headphone experience but with all this situation i will stay with what i have at the moment.

It's affecting almost everything computer relate.

The idea of moving to an external device is just to broaden your choices and potential get around price hikes like you are finding with the Nu Audio Pro, while still getting killer sound quality :)

You could get one of these :D

I didn't even know that apple sold anything for $9, let alone something like that! Great performance with low impedance headphones, or just as an output to an amp or powered speakers.

Only thing to watch out for is the european version, which seems to only output .5 vrms, not 1 vrms like the US version. I'm in Australia, and I got the US version. I got two actually. Now I can plug my KRK KNS 6400 headphones into any random computer wherever I am, and get excellent results.

Yeah, I want to try that Apple dongle. I have the Pixel 4 cable, and it's not very good. But that's because it colours sound enough where I can tell. I've been able to somehow correct that by using the 2.5" attachment on my headphones with a Sennheiser 2.5" => 3.5 mm converter.
