New TV time

Finally convinced the wife and will be getting a 4K TV for the living room, it will replace an old Sony LED 55" bought 4 years ago.

I've narrowed my options to these 3:

Sony XBR-55X805E -> ~$1300
Sony XBR-55X705D -> ~$900
Sony XBR-55X855D -> ~$1120

Main differences are that the X8 series are Triluminos, and between these 2, the X855 is "XR960"+ X1 Image processing chip and the X805 is "XR240"

I'm deciding towards the X855, however this is a 2016 model, and the X805 is a 2017 model.

Any advice?

Question, have you considered an OLED at all? It is a bit more money so want to know if there was a cap on the budget as well :)

On paper the 855 seems the better option.

I wouldn't buy a song even if my life depended on it.
Samsung all the way or maybe LG oled.

OLED prices are still too high here...

I used to have a Samsung TV, not bad, but the Sony that replaced it was far superior

Have you looked at older Samsung KS8500/KS9500 series? LG OLED C6, can you import?

I have a very limited budget of around $1000 and importing will be extremely expensive.

The cheapest OLED from LG here cost around $2700... :(
The Samsungs you mention are around $2000

I can get a 55X855D for around $1100, it's the cheapest I can find it.

Get the Vizio P-Series P65-C1 it's currently being phased out in waves of the 2017 models.. But the 2017s have the exact same hardware. You can get a 65" for $1500($500 off) right now at most places, and it was one of 2016s best TVs.

If that's too much, go with the 2017 M-Series, it has most of the P series 2016 tech, just less LED arrays. Both are full HDR10, and Dolby Vision speced. Have ARC, and much more goodies. No tuners though.

Vizio are not available in Peru, I've seen them in BestBuy before, they seem fine though.

I ended up getting the Sony 55X855D at $1121 including shipping, it will be delivered tomorrow morning :D , will post pics after I install it.

What PS4 game should I try first?
