Looooooove the open-ended room... What was the room (where the screen is) used for
Always bugs me to see weird divisions like that....
Man, I loved those beams embedded in the ceiling
Nice setup Don't forget to post pics once all is done. Add a puppy or kitten in the middle for extra votes

Looks great!
(that's not a load-bearing wall that was removed, was it? )
If you want the , they are still in my garage . Going to make a little stage out of them for the kids and Karaoke parties. They were just 2x6 beams nailed to the ceiling. Completely non functional yet original part of the house.
There is a cat hanging out on the right side of the couch.
Most of what is left is a little work on the cabinetry we added (there was a missing end panel for the island and we need to get drawer pulls) and some touch up to the paint. Also need to finish tuning the RadioRa 2 light controls.
I am really loving the grey for the projector screen. Makes the system much more usable with a little ambient light. The LED down lights are direct enough that I can have the ones in the kitchen and the back of the family room on full and the screen still looks pretty decent. When the lights are dimmed it is fantastic. The lighting is divided into about 12 switch legs that are controlled by a RadioRa 2 system. I am still figuring out exactly the best way to have the light controls setup, but I can already tell you it is super nice to be able to set different lighting scenes at the touch of a button, or from a tablet, or over IR with our Harmony remote.
We also have a 32" screen on an ergotron arm on the wall behind the fridge that can either mirror the projector or connect to a computer in the hall closest. It can either be parked at a desk facing the couches or face into the kitchen and be used next to the cooktop.
BTW, I think the thing I love most about the kitchen is the induction cook top. Just makes it soooo much easier to keep the island clean. With our old gas cook top I would take an hour to clean it and by the evening it would already need to be filthy again. This takes like a minute to wipe off with a damp towel and your done. Cooking on it took a little getting used to.
