my pc having insomnia

so whenever I put the pc to sleep, after some minutes -don't know random or at exact time- it will wake up by itself

this has happened ever since a clean install windows 7... there were a time or two when it stayed sleep until I woke it up but mostly it woke up by itself.

tried the cmd command powercfg lastwake, nothing came up; so how do I fix this?

Is it set so if the mouse moves it wakes it up?

My mouse is usually the culprit, which I resolve by trying to remember to turn it off every night lol. Network activity is another common reason. Try some of these tips?

Network was mine.

Disable "Allow this device to wake the computer" under network adapter properties in the device manager.

thanks, turning off wake on LAN, will see if it cure the problem

Recent versions of windows (Vista and newer I think) can wake from sleep to run scheduled tasks like disk drefrag or windows update.

To stop that from happening disable the "Allow wake timers" option in the advanced power config
