MOHAA / Radeon8500 - HELP!

I'm a recent nVidia convert, and so far, I've been really impressed with my 8500 (retail). That is...until now.

When I play MOHAA (with the 1.1 patch) big chunks of the terrain and some walls will flicker, and turn black.

I've tried adjusting the video settings in the game, but that didn't fix anything. Anyone else having this problem? Here's my configuration:

Abit NV7-133R / Athlon XP 2000+
ATI Radeon 8500 (retail) w/ 6037 drivers from ati.com
2x 512mb Mushkin Special PC2100 RAM
2x 60gb IBM Deskstar 60GXP (RAID-0)
TDK VeloCD 24X / Hitachi 8X DVD-ROM
Soundblaster Live! MP3+
Kingston NIC
400W P/S
Windows XP Home (current with all windowsupdate patches)
 
A lot of people have been having issues much like yours with the 6037 drivers. I highly recommend you try the 6043 or 6052 because they are much better/faster.

Do you know for sure if that will actually fix it?
I really don't like using beta drivers, unless absolutely necessary.
