Mobility 128/m4

AN Ati Mobility 128 came with my new(old) laptop. What is the capability of this card? IS it better than intel integrated? I had trouble googling. BUt from what I can dig up, It is significantly worse than an geforce2. Anyone got linkes to benches?
 
Well all I know is that it ain't a Radeon for one thing. The first mobility card dubbed the Radeon was the M6 which I had on my old laptop, the chip for the one you have is a Rage 128 Mobility. It will be worse than GF2, it will also be worse than a GF1 and possibly TNT1 & 2. No T&L, I wouldn't even say it had 2 pipelines, but don't quote me on these, I'm just guestimating! :)

edit: I found one benchmark which compares it to a GF2 Go

It's basically a Rage128Pro card. I have the same card in my personal laptop. It can handle UT99 pretty well, but anything newer and it's really gonna crawl.
 
I had a very simular card in my old toshiba, and pushing it to its absolute max with modifyed drivers(sorry, no clue where from nemore, systems hdd died... rather sponataniously and destructively to the inside of the computer if you get my drift) pushed it to running WC3 single player demo at 15-30fps(rather eratic)

the exact card was a rage lt pro mobile... 8mb vid ram... That pretty much says it all i think.

wow, 32bit takes a big hit...

I assume it can handle starcraft or Diablo2. Would tribes run? I remember it running on a TNT2.. :(

o well, wasnt meant for gaming anyway.

damn.. she was slow on the TNT2, i had no 3D back then... Well, I had D2 working on a 4 year old laptop with intel grafix/ 128 ram and 900 MHZ.. There is hope. ...
 
I had a Dell with the Mobility 128 in it, and I can remember playing Quake 3 on that baby. It was probably in 16-bit, but it was quite playable. In fact, that laptop was my lan party machine for quite a while.
 
Where would i obtain drivers for this card? I need to be registerd with ati to downloadi t from htem :(
 
Yep, i did. Went to that guys website, and the drivers there, he said to download them from the vender.. Works great. UT2004 runs. :)

Outcast runs too :).

as low as i can go.

originally the game had me at 320x240, and i was like.. nah... so i moved it up a bit. it's kinda slow, but i'd say i get around 15 FPS in bad situations. i think the 850MHZ is helping out here just a bit :)

this was with bots too, maybe with humans, it'll be faster.
 
Diplomacy demo doesnt work.. i need a 32 MB video card... But thats BS. Why dont they just use the ram or hard disk? Doom3 need 512 mb ram for ultra high and my 128 98000 pro ran it.... :confused:
 
Anyone with this card try Civ 4 with this? I want to get the game, but want to be certain it can run with 16MB of video memory
