Anyone have some experience using the two drivers?

- Which is faster for gaming?
- Any recommendations on software for tweaking?

Quick specs on the Ubuntu box
i7-3930k
Intel DX79TO
16Gb DDR3
Radeon R7 260X
29" LG 29WK500

I haven't tried AMDGPU-PRO but I have tried AMDGPU and MESA. I honestly didn't notice much difference with VegaM(Polaris 22 [Radeon RX Vega M GH).

But does the AMDGPU driver have a control panel? Because it kinda sucks that the MESA3D one doesn't :\

For tweaking, you must use command-line parameters for various tasks. As said xrandr for tweaking resolutions and refresh rates.

For 3D settings there are these environment variables:
vblank_mode=x (sync refresh 0 or 1)
R600_TEX_ANISO=x (anisotropic filtering 0-16)
GALLIUM_MSAA=x (Antialiasing level - but this does not work for amdgpu 0-8)
pp_jimenezmlaa=x (Morphological AA values 0-32)

For fan control there is a graphical setting/monitoring app: https://github.com/marazmista/radeon-profile

It kinda stinks there is no "Control Panel" for Linux anymore, but most of the options can be controlled via environment variables.

:bleh: I'll probably end up making a simple gui then. But man that sucks. C'mon AMD release a control panel with at least old school catalyst level of controls :(
