Manifold Garden

Anybody else playing this?

It's a puzzle game, similar in part to Antichamber, with a great simple art style and impossible geometry. Also an Epic exclusive for the moment.

I've got about three hours with it and I'm warming to it. At first I thought it was more style over substance but after the third garden and a great eureka moment I'm liking it more. Spent ages lost and unsure of what to do when I just had a lightbulb go on and suddenly two elements of the world connected in such a brilliantly obvious way. Felt like an idiot for not connecting them earlier but delighted I'd had the patience to let it come to me.

I've seen a bit of it and while the style is fascinating... the mechanics seem like they would be really confusing to wrap my head around. Seems well designed, though, and if you're looking for that sort of mind-melty kind of puzzle, it's probably a great choice.

In a slightly similar vein but a more accessible style, I'd recommend Superliminal. Similar brain-melty aspects, but it feels less concentrated and is more colorful and has a story to help keep things going.

I'm keeping an eye on Superliminal but reviews were better for Garden so it was the one I went with at the time.

So far navigation hasn't been too difficult though it can take a few moments to orientate when you change planes. Might get tougher as I get further in of course.
