Lost recording sound

Using MMC 9.08, Radon AIW 9600 without any real issue ( Ok it has always had issues, but we already know what they are)
Suddenly it stop recording sound.
PC has sound
TV has sound
As the program is recording, it has sound
When playing back, no sound
All recorded program up until last week play back with sound
All the sound setting are un-muted and full volume
Removed and re-added software, same result
My gut say the card is finally dead, get a new one!
My wallet says fix it anyway:down:
Any ideas?

PS any idea what to get if its dead? I haven't looked in years..
Needs: Analog - I have plain old non-digital cable and a big projection non-HD TV
CHEAP!
Wants: Something less problematic than the old setup

I see from your other posting that you've tried the RE-installation of the OS to try and fix the problem. I hope you removed (un-seated the card just to take that out of the equation as a possibility). But as you know we sympathize with what your going through. It's one thing if something fizzles and dies but if it really is something dying on the card that's about the piss - poorest thing it could be. I mean you'd still get the video GRRR that chit drives me NUT!!!

With the MMC 9.08 you are no longer using the *(SP) line in wire right? You are using the NSP so you could try using the line in plug. I also wouldn't rule out a problem with onboard sound or sound card? You might also try a free program like Audacity to see if you can record the audio feed from the sound card or onboard chip's mixer.

I am fairly happy with the TV Wonder 650 combo ( Analog & Digital ) tuner. Though after someone else posted that they weren't nearly as happy with the Analog it provides as the ole' all in wonder cards... I started to agree. I don't think that they are as good as the AIW's either. Though it does seem to matter what else is in the system. IDK why at all but for example TV Wonder 650 in Vista system with X1950XT running the 9.3 TV wonder drivers is not nearly as clear clean as same card running in another system W7 HD 3870 9.3 Vista drivers. I don't understand the interplay that the graphics card has but the picture is noticeably better (analog) on the W7 System.

I also have to check and have CCC take back control of the Color (Reactivate color controls) - on the Vista System. Vista does a poor job of that IMO or at least on my system and it's really a negative effect on the Analog picture displayed.

Both are not as good as the AIW for rich colors. The fact though that the W7 is better than the Vista system (analog) leads me to believe that not only does the Graphics card affect the picture, but also that i could improve the picture on one or both of the systems by manually fine tuning the CCC color & picture settings. I don't mind CCC but some of you don't have that so could do the same thing with ATI tray tools or riva tuner etc.

Newegg just had the TV wonder 650 PCI-E combo card (month of April) for $29.99 After a $20 MIR and $10 instant off. I am hoping to see that return. And as quite often they are throwing in a cheap but useable Diamond Windows media center remote with it until 5/31 but it's a pretty frequent add on for that card.
Frys' often has the same card - the remote for $39.99 and it goes on sale periodically or theirs EBAY. Just watch carefully that you are getting the right model. There is a PCI, & PCI-E model and the naming structure can be confusing.
