Won't let me install the latest Logitech Gaming Software unless I install some bloatware bullshit called Overwolf.

I can press the quit button and I can click the check box but the next button does nothing unless I install the Overwolf bloatware.

When I press Quit I can click Exit Setup and I can press Resume but nope that Next button does **** all unless I install the Overwolf bloatware.

**** You Logitech

This is why I've been avoiding a new keyboard and mouse. Everyone wants you to install all their bloatware stuff. If I have to install stuff I make sure the hardware can handle profiles so I can install and configure and then trash the software.

Why is it bloatware? I see the keyword "responsive". Are you calling bloatware because it something don't need? or Is it causing a negative impact on your gaming?:bleh:

I could call it ransomware if that is more to your liking as it holds the driver install hostage unless I allow it on my system.

The updater DOES NOT prompt you about Overwolf being installed if you are checking for updates in Logitech G application that is typically running.

ONLY if you go get the installer yourself, then run Logitech Gaming Software Installer does it offer the option (default 'next' is an auto-driveby, er install).
Update using an older version?
I apologize if any inconvenience was caused. However when you install the Logitech software, it specifically states: "Logitech works better with Overwolf", and after that you have an option to click "Next" to install or "Skip" to not install Overwolf.
True or false?

Clicking the next button does nothing unless I accept and install overwolf via their installer.

I tried this multiple times exiting out of their installer and retrying and restarting my computer and trying the installer again. The next button did n.o.t.h.i.n.g unless I accepted the overwolf install.

There was no screen I missed that says its going to install overwolf and then a next screen that allows me to accept the eula for overwolf.

I double clicked the installer and I clicked next once and it takes me to the overwolf screen with the check box then nothing unless I accepted overwolf.

EDIT:
The version I downloaded was Logitech Gaming Software v8.88.30 x64 downloaded shortly before I made this thread.

That other comment made it sound you could get the drivers without overwolf.
Go download an older version without it and use the updater.

overwolf isn't that bad, i've seen worse. That being said, their support, while great at times, won't be able to do much in this particular case. But hey, give it a try, what do i know...

Install like normal then select Overwolf uninstall in the control panel but leave the drivers?

This is what I did. Not happy about it but I wasn't going to waste my time finding and downloading a version without this crap in it.

Doesn't mean what they're doing is right. Nothing like forced acceptance. Get people used to this kinda stuff only screws the end consumer I mean what's stopping them from making people more complacent and then forcing you to install some real nasty crapware that changes your browser start page and installing toolbars and ****.

"Well you can uninstall it afterwords" is a bullshit excuse when they are infecting your pc in the future and I'd rather people not become complacent in this crap which is why I'm bitching now.

They've already lost me a customer a year or so ago but I do have my duct taped g15 gamepanel lcd and my mouse until they break on me.

I thought deselecting the Raptr crap bundled with AMD drivers was annoying. Speaking of, does the Razer software still require an internet connection?

Razer Synapse still requires an internet connection for activation, though afterwards you can go into offline mode, which I can confirm will no longer attempt to connect to the internet.

You can do a true offline install with a tournament driver package, but it requires a working synapse install to configure the keyboard setup and create the package. You will not be able to configure anything afterward on the deployed install either.

Umm... you didn't respond to this?

Is there no skip button/link? Maybe tiny, so you're overlooking it?
I double click the exe and I see this screen pop up..

I click next once and this pops up..

aaand that's when the fight started cause it won't let me click next unless I accept and install overwolf.

Really doesn't seem like that big of a deal but hey, live the dream.

well, i have to side with Seyiji on this one, this kinda crap sadly is no single occurrance and everytime we just accept it more companies will do this sh*t.

I for one absolutely hate this kind of forced install, be it a browser i don't want or anything else. The "solution" to de-install that later is no solution, it's just "we don't care, deal with it on your own" which is unacceptable.

Ive gotten it installed without Overwolf.

Although I actually use Overwolf to have some overlays that can be hidden from OBS Studio.
