Is a single-seat home theater a "sad" concept?

I have a small room (roughly 12 ft long x 11 ft wide x 9.5 ft high). Other than me, no one in the house gives a damn about this stuff/movies/home theater. For my new home theater, I planned to have a two-seater sofa in there but then realized I could probably have one really nice and comfy recliner instead (room is not wide enough for two recliners as they are generally quite large). What do you guys think? If we ever did decide to watch a movie together, we could just do it in the TV room which has a Sony HTIB and no one will care about the difference in equipment/quality.

If you really can't fit two theater seats in there, then sure one would be better than none. ;) If you have the space or can make it work, I would recommend getting two.

My initial thoughts were not sad at all, but in practical terms you have others in the house and I think eventually they might want to indulge in something a bit more comfortable.

In addition, a sofa is just more useful in the long run as people can sleep on it and/or you can move it to other rooms.

So, it's not sad but I think it's probably more sensible if you allow at least 2 or 3 people to enjoy it later on.

I have that exact setup right now, but I'm the only one in the house.

I had an extra room I wasn't doing anything with, so I put a 5.1 system in there plus 2 atmos speakers in front. Problem is, I can't fit any reasonably decent seating through the narrow doorway...so I just have the one chair in there right now.

I've had a few comments from friends in jest that it does look a bit sad. But...it sounds amazing and it's all that fits in the room and nobody comes here to watch movies/play games.

My God...it’s...beautiful

My gear isn't any where near that caliber, but I can't see that and not re-do my man cave. I'm moving it to another room in the house and Adam's setup is going to be shamelessly pillaged for the template

The Higgy cave narrated no less. You sound....normal

Same basic placement of gear/seating. That's what I want to go for. Right now my 55" TV is sitting on an old desk surrounded by 10 years worth of camera equipment/puter parts/flight bags and books. It looks awful

That's a nice size to work with. I'm confined to 10' x 14', which isn't bad at all, but it's going to force me to do a long overdo cleaning and get rid of some old stuff. I still have to patch and paint the room first though. It's my wife's old craft room and I had shelves/gear mounted to every wall for her.
