Installing new drivers.

Hey!

I have decided to install new drivers. I just want to ask you experts if I need to delete the old ones or can I just overwrite them?

If I need to delete the old ones, how?

Thanks in advance

Rafael

Well d3d is STILL messed up!!

Well d3d is STILL messed up!!

Oh goody, looks like ati did it once again!!
Tested d3d, since gl seems to have been working fantastic and better in each driver.
Well I started Ghost Recon, wich is one of the d3d games the drivers have major issues with, and as always, it locks.
This along with the stutters is still there in some games.
Why can;t ati seem to fix this.
2-3 "official driver sets out, along with a few betas as well, and STILL hasn't been fixed or adressed. Maybe they don't see it as an issue, but I sure as hell do.
GR is NOT that old of a game, it's newer than q3.
SO what's the deal, why can't this be fixed, is it so much to ask?
ANYthing past the 6043 drivers, d3d is messed up. Guess once AGIAIN, I am stuck useing the 6043 set.
This is just annoying and flat out BS, that it's not being fixed. I am not the only one with the issues, I have read and psoted in a few threads concerning GR, and othes have it as well, otherwise I'de think it may actually be me.
I have gone through MANY MANY MANY MANY hrs of tedious testing and setting of things. I have gone as far as to set one setting at a time, and test, so it basically went like this.....
-change a setting
-Start GR
-End the game by loseing
-Exit out to menu, wich does not happen but MAYBE one out of every
ten times, and lockup
-Restart
-reset the setting I changed back to what it was
-change another setting
-start gr
-end the game by loseing
-Exit out to menu, wich does not happen but MAYBE one out of every
ten times, and lockup
-Restart
-reset the setting I changed back to what it was
-change another setting
-start gr
etc...etc...and on and on.
I did this for a grooling(however ya spell that word) 2 days straight, of differrent drivers as well as the settings AND rebooting.
Still the issues, even through EVERY setting. I had thought it might be a combo of settings so I tried that for about 1/2 day with no luck. I even set it to default setting, STILL the same thing.
I had thought, well ok maybe it's a game issue thing. I put on the
6043 set, and bingo, not one single issue. I tried a ton of different driver sets, includeing omega's and plut's, and both those have the same issue, due to the fact they are useing above the 6043's d3d files. Anything that uses anything above the 6043 d3d files, it happens the same way. The gl part of it is fine, it's the d3d that's not fine.
So I am pleading asking whatever else, PLEASE ati, or whoever, fix this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
btw, my thanks goes out the plut/Omega drivers on red software's sight, of the special 6043's, that have the 6071's gl, and the 6043's d3d, thiose work quite nicely. Just wish they'd fix the d3d issues.
