Installed catalyst 2.1[6094] Where is the my Ati Control Panel

I have installed it official 6094 catalyst manualy, as I am using the Torica Radeon 8500. I have lost the Ati control panel.

I need to mention I have clearly uninstalled the old drivers, deleted all Ati*.* files and removed the related registries. However, after I have installed the Ati control panel, it does not come out even I click the Advance Button in the Display Property.

I have tried the reference drivers in Ati official web[wxp-ref-7-72-020524m-004274c]and the other catalyst driver[fdrsoft-ati773w9xmew2xp], same problem stills occurs. Remarked that I have clearly removed the driver before using others.

When I tried the Omega[6071b] and 6071 from Rage3d drivers, the ordinary control panel comes out. However, it can go through the 3Dmark2001se, the computer always restarts before starting task 7.

I am so disappointed and helpless. The last way to get my control panel and pass the 3dmark2001se is to reinstall the driver of 3dRage's 6052, 43 or 37...:(

Please help me if u have some suggestion:rolleyes:

Hi. I have a "friend" that has the same problem.

After the second install he had all right ??!!

He has R7500 i belive. I belive that a frash install will rezolve everythink ??!!

I had the same problem. Go to the folder where you extracted the driver and there you'll find a folder named CPanel, inside you'll find a setup.exe. Run it and after reboot you'll have the tabs back.

Good luck, GGP

In the new drivers, the tabs get installed by the CPanel setup, and not by the INF from the drivers themselves.

Like GGP said, run the setup.exe from the CPanel folder.

Yep, MrB I'm running the powered by ATI driver. Tried the otherone first but the powered by driver seems to be more stable with the Mobility Radeon 7500. For example I got some 'freezing' going on with the ATI driver during the environment bumpmapping part of 3DMark2001, which is absent with the powered by driver. Also games seem to run more stable with the powered by driver.

I am now using the original R8500bios now. I have installed the control panel twice, so unlucky that the control panel still lost. I first remove uninstall the drivers in the control panel, then I remove all registry and all ati*.* in windows. Here comes the installation of display driver by updating the driver in my device manager. Followed by the control panel installation by clicking the icon in ATI\support\wxp-radeon-6-13-10-6094\CPanel. However, still not work for me when I twice installed the control panel[only install the control panel, the display driver remain there]

I have found an interesting problem, that is, the control panel has run in the startup, but it does not appear.... Here is my startup registry details which is exported by Regcleaner 4.3:

I have the same problem, I've reinstall the cpanel several times, it just wouldn't show up.

weird. I wonder why ATI just changed systems. I'll try to find out if there a solution tomorrow.

Maybe this can help

Maybe this can help

Did you go in and uninstall all the old drivers first ?? I had the same problem including the tray icon would only show the tv and 1 other thing, all others gone until I uninstalled all of the old stuff, went into the registry and deleted out all of the old ATI references to drivers. It worked after that. It seems these drivers don't like upgrading the old ones and they just clash.
I hope it helps, it fixed my problems. (Even though I turn off the panel and just right click on the tray icon to access the apps.

I'll try that later, I thought uninstall process would clear the registry as well, I guess I am wrong.

how do I know which registry is ATI related? Search by "ATI" as keyword?

Do I need to uninstall R3D Tweak as well?

Hi guys! :)

This is my first post here! (Though I read posts here for some time) So I'm a bit nervous!

Okay back to the "Missing Control Panel". I read from another forum (in Chinese) a workable solution for the issue. You need to manually install the drivers and the control panel one by one. First install the drivers by choosing custom install. UNCHECK the control panel this time. After reboot, run the setup in the drivers folder "\CPanel" and change the install path to "\WINDOWS\SYSTEM" instead of the default path. This works for those guys in that forum.

I also encountered the same problem when I first install the Catalyst drivers on my Hercules 8500 LE. But I was just too impatient to wait for a solution and without looking back, I flashed the original ATI BIOS 7.004 in, install the "built-by" drivers and now my Hercules is happily working at 275/275 with the Catalyst.

So I myself haven't tried the solution above but just see if it works for you.
