After using the very limited free version, I picked up the paid version when it was on sale for $20 (half-price) over the holidays. I've since gone on to produce 2 full tracks using it with my iPhone 6 - which, for me, is crazy productive given this is a hobby... and i'm not making genre-fitting music as I just go where it takes me rather than having a particular style. That said, the available virtual instruments do encourage some types of music more than others.
The full price of the app is too steep, but, despite being the most expensive app I've ever purchased at $20 it's been a treasure.
