If AMD AIB's were reading this thread, what would you tell them?

Now that the RX 480 is out, the next step is having the capable manufacturers have
their pass at that chip and customize it.

If you had to make recommendations to those manufacturers, or AMD,
what is the improvements you see most important for RX 480 going forward?

The two things I see is a proper heat-sink that also cools memory and getting
a better power management design as the reference one seems very variable
from test to test.

Also 1500mhz :bleh:

Can the PWM issue of drawing too much, or nearly so power from the PCIE (75 w+) be addressed by software or firmware/bios update?

From my limited understanding is yes it can. A bios flash may require them to be sent in for those not comfortable doing it themselves.

Mind you I expect the AIB to fix the issue, Nitro from Saphirre has an 8 pin connector, but would be nice if AMD/vendors offered a trade in for those who experience it and dont want to toy with bios.

Id have no issue doing a bios update myself.

um...hurry up lol

Just use the cooling systems for other cards, OC by 50mhz and I'll be there.

I am glad they are sticking DVI ports on em too, I was blown away by AMD leaving that out. I didn't even realize DVI was a dieing port until very recently. It just seems odd to me to make a card for "everyone" and then leave a DVI connector off. The Nitro from sapphire already has this fixed.

I mean yes I agree for the segment its weird. But for the higher end cards I completely understand killing dvi. Most high end monitors don't bother with it and for high res over 60hz it cannot keep up.

I never really kept up with monitor tech, I just bought a dell at best buy not even 2 months ago. It's just a 23 inch oled 1080p 60hz monitor with only DVI and VGA. My old monitor broke and I was in a pinch and they had it on sale for a hundred bucks. I just never even thought about spending a boatload of money for a crazy spec'd monitor. I use VSR to downscale from 1440p and the picture on my 1080 screen is still incredible to me. Also allows me to use 1080 if I have to. (technically always on 1080 but with downscaling the picture quality is gorgeous)
