I need to find and deal with this sneaky process/app

so apparently there is this ASUS thing I accidentally put into my pc when installing my new system drivers/tools... now this thing is giving me an error popup dialog whenever I start up my pc  it didn't seem to affect anything though, it seem to be a zombie process...

is there a tool out there to completely diagnose startup programs/processes and even registry to deal with this???

fyi somehow this thing doesn't even registered on services.msc (or I just don't know the name) and msconfig :hmm:

tough little nuts

When you first start up the computer and the error appears, leave it up. Bring up task manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc) to view presently running programs. This error window should be in the list. If it is, right click on it and select "Go To Process". You'll then be taken to the Processes tab of Task Manager and the offending process will be highlighted. Don't terminate it just yet.

launch MSConfig and deselect the offending process. Reboot and verify that the error prompt doesn't surface.

If not, you can carry on as usual. However understand this is really a band-aid fix. The error is gone and should stay gone, however the offending software is still on your computer, just dormant. If you opt to track it down to fully remove it, that's your choice. Whether that's necessary or not is open to debate. I'm lazy, I'd likely just carry on.

Hope that helps. :)

Oh btw just realized, Redeemed does that method work on win 7? I am not with my pc yet but IIRC Win 7 task manager can't do what you described lol

It absolutely can. Just the wording and layout are a bit different. The procedure is essentially the same though. :)
