Looks like an excellent monitor, and an excellent value at 600$ cdn. Go for it. I just hate 1280x1024 because of the odd aspect ratio...
Since the true resolution is 1920x1440, (a 4:3 aspect ratio) you will need excellent moiré cancellation to properly display at 1280x1024 in solid mid-tone colors. Moiré patterns should not be a problem for any resolution with a 4:3 aspect ratio.
You should definitely get better results than me at 1600x1200 but my point is that you'll probably find, with time, that things are a bit too small at that resolution, perhaps making you wish you had purchased a 21" instead - to avoid the moiré patterns at 1280x1024 and circles that appear slightly elliptic (streched). I hope not for you, and I respect your opinion; it's just how I feel about my own purchase.
Also, I understand that newer 21" picture tubes have short necks, making them smaller than ever. Prices have dropped a lot but they are still much higher than 19 inch monitors.
