Hey mister ATI man...

Hi,

ever thought about supporting the 3D Demo Scene in Europe ? The demos on ftp.scene.org are all OPEN-GL and most of them developed for nVidia cards :-(

I've never counted but it seems more like 50/50 IMHO, Big name demomakers like Farb-rausch, Elitegroup (kasparov), threestate, fairlight use DX.

Many of the demos written in openGl use the demogl_dll engine, which seems to have been Radeon unfriendly at times.

Overall ATI do seem interested in keeping compatibility with the demos high. I've reported numnerous problems, and all have been fixed for the next driver release.

There is an entire set of a demogroups releases written for DX that don't work the Radeon. www.wtsoftware.de Personally I think that DirectX has more compatibility issues. I also think some people make their demos not work on ATI systems, but that's just my paranoia. :D

I'm a big supporter of the demo scene, european or otherwise. As I encounter problems, or they're reported (thanks euan) I make sure to get them in the bug list for the driver people. Based on the number of demos I've tested and number of failed programs, I'd say it's a pretty small percentage that don't run on ATI boards or at least the newer ones (Radeon and up).

Driver errors should be posted in the Technical Support areas under the other forums, not in the coder forum I don't think. Unless of course you are a coder of the program. You might also consider reporting them to ATI technical support since that's the basic idea of the support team.
