Help Me get a New TV

I'm not a big tv watcher, right now I have a 32 inch sorta widescreen CRT/Tube non=HD flat glass that is at least 10 years old that is making a really annoying sound so its time for a new TV.

Funds are limited as I'm the only one making the bucks in this house right now(woman went back to school full time to get better pay, little one is too young to work), so I was looking at a two model LG 42ln5300 for $379, or a LG 42lb6300 for $599 at the top end of the price range. I would hate to finally buy a TV and not be happy with it, however I pretty much know jack squat about TV's but I would like to have it last a while. Looking to stick around the 42" size

Any other imput for tv?

Check out the HDTV section of SlickDeals for sales. There are some very good plasma's going within your price range, for a larger tele. Or you can get a 50-55" in that price too. Or a good 42" if that's the available space for it.
