HDMI audio to optical

There had been a few times I've wanted to hook up different devices to my home theatre but haven't because the source only had HDMI out for both video and audio.

My setup is pretty old and my TV doesn't have outputs. I've seen boxes on ebay that can potentially separate the audio from the HDMI cable and give me an optical output instead.

Anyone use one of these or have any recommendations? Dint really want to spend too much money in this either.

I bought something like way back in 2008. It was made by a company called Octava and worked pretty well. Not sure if they still have a Canadian presence but you could always give them a try. Pretty pricey though back in the day, not sure if their prices are any better these days now that HDMI splitters are so common.
