have lockups with ragepro 4mg 96mg ram opengl games

Damn iam fusterated
i got a rage pro 4 mg card
tech: Rage Pro Turbo APG 2X
when i run opengl games such as quake2 quake3 decent3 halflife tribes or any game that supports opengl, my system runs for about 5 to ten minutes then completly hangs up, and disconnects me from the net, though most of the time it locks up in the games and then i have to reboot

i have tried older versions of the driver for this to work and even the beta but no such luck
i hav e 10/100 Etherfast network card
32 mg in first bay
64 mg in second bay
and its an onboard grahpics chip

please please help its been like this for a year, i just want OPENGL !!
ps i got the newest opengl.dll as well

this is my specs
OS: Win98 SE
Ram: 96 meg sdram
Speed: 350 MHz amdK6
Video: Rage Pro Turbo APG 2X 4meg even
Games: Q2,Q3,Halflife,Decent3,Tribes,Kingping etc
Res: 16 bit high color 640 by 480
Usage: default opengl
System: Aptiva 2153 E3U

need more?

This may not help as I have win95 and a P2 266 chip with 160RAM.

The only time mine freezes is when I press Alt+Tab to switch into windows.

You might be experiencing this problem if you have something in windows that keeps switching you back out of gl mode.
 
examples pls
i got like icq,ftp, and desktop in the background,
and sometime mcfee virus scan,
thats about it running
very bare
 
Well that's much more then I have running. I have icq once in a while so that might not be the problem. Try turning everything off and see if it still does that.

BTW: The more progs. u have in the backround, the slower the card will work. I preffer to have icq off because my display gets choppy on some maps with it running.

Well i havnt tried that yet but when i had the matrox card accelator didnt have a plm
could have anything running werid
ill give it shot though,
I have always been to alt tab in any game just not q3 ():
