"a modder who now makes $20,000 a month on Patreon bringing big games like Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption 2 to virtual reality. But the publisher of those games, Take-Two Interactive, was apparently not amused — and Patreon is now threatening to suspend his account unless he plays ball with a DMCA takedown."

Take2 is undoubtedly protecting their upcoming VR work efforts.

Mods are from love, and money should be totally optional. Having a monthly mod paywall I disagree with greatly. Had Luke been doing a donation mod, I feel Take2 might of looked the other way.

If it was a regular mod, I wouldn't be shocked at all. But his "mod" from my understanding is essentially like the software/drivers of VorpX, iZ3D, Tri-Def etc. So I really don't think Take2 has a real case. He probably should have moved away from calling his solutions a "mod".

Pfhahahaha nah, take2 has shut down mods before and going out of their way to shut down mods now too.
