If 4000 series will apear and the supply may get back at an optimum level the 3000 series will crash on second hand very very hard.I have a feeling that i may buy the LordHawkiwind rtx3090 at a 300 pounds![]()

Everyone says this everytime, its not been the case yet, second hand cards are selling for a few humdred off retail and it has continued this trend for years.
I do remember there were many 2080ti very cheap (400$ or even less if i remember correctly) compared to MSRP just before the 3000 series launched.
There was a rumor the 4000 series will be a very big leap versus the 3000 series. The RTX needs substantial firepower.

badsykes I think this card will last me a couple of generations at least as I can do without RTX/DLSS and just play games in Ultra. Can't see any games I'd buy making my card obsolete anytime soon.
With the 3080 I think the Jacket panicked with the console launches and AMD 6xxx and released the 3080 at a lower price than he would have liked. TBH I nearly fell off my chair when I saw the price and I wanted one.
Alas that never happened but if you look at restocking the 3090FE is reguarly available in the UK (£1,399) whereas no 3080FE's are. Not difficult to work out why. It's the same with AMD. There are MBA & AIB 6900XT's at inflated prices but very little 6800XT's.
Unfortunately once companies know that people will pay higher prices for products the price tends to normalise at the higher price. It's capitalism pure and simple. All AMD and Nvidia need to do is release next gen cards at today's prices and limit supply and people will pay the money and buy them.

Those were people panic selling, Hell I sold my 1080 Ti to soon. Probably could have got another $150 for it. Still ended up getting $375 for it way after the 3080 release.
3060s going for 1199 already.

I think he meant Ti's, regular 3060s aren't very good at mining, but they aren't particularly good at gaming either (about 2060 performance, little bit less) I sold my entire PC for $2800, since I haven't really been playing anything powerfull enough for it. I have a I7-10750H/2060 Omen laptop that plays everything I need fine. I'll do a new build once prices come back to planet earth.
Ok yeah Tis would make more sense..
Either way, this whole price gouging thing is exactly why I'm out of the upgrade game. I'd grab a laptop too before building another rig.
I just couldnt justify having something sit next to me worth $3k only to play league of legends.
Fun fact, my laptop plays LoL better than my PC did simply becuase my laptop doesn't go into the stupid reduced power state that I couldn't disable on my desktop (since lol takes peanuts to run).
