look for a card with hardware hevc decode as well as googles other one.

If your not in a rush I'd wait for a 1050 or RX460. Low price and it should be good enough for 4k.

Seems to support encode up to 4k 60 fps in this article...

Encode and decode are different things in terms of hardware support.

Didnt know it could output 8k. Thats def good future proofing for 2d users.
