I haven't watched the whole thing yet. But what I have seen... 1000% on point and should be called out. Especially given how it all got here anyway as Tech Jesus covers at very start of the video.
 
LTT should've stuck to entertainment being influencers only. They have had a lot of probs in their reviews for a long time.
 
So I've watched the whole thing now, and read his reply on his own forum... it was kind of a horrible reply to the GN video.

IMHO fixing this now requires some real work, so I really hope that new CEO is up for the task, because Linus just proved he was absolutely not. Which he did know, that why they just hired the new CEO... but he's broken any sort of trust I can put in their content. For now... I'm unsubscribed and I won't be watching any of the LTT content till they get their house in order.

And they way they have handled all of those issues is bad, bad and more bad. There is no point in them doing reviews with how they have been handling all elements related.

lol. Not just drama. LTT had to be called out on this or they would just keep going down the road of progressively producing worse and worse content.
 
I stopped watching LTT for quite sometime. I can't stand the person and the videos. Actually I can't stand his whole team. They behave like idiots with camera so I treated them as such.
For me even Tech Jesus really needs to cut down on words. He keeps repeating himself. His videos are also unwatchable. Only ones I watch these days is Hardware Unboxed and read up on techpowerup reviews. Maybe an occasional one from Hardware Canucks as the guys there act professional.

LTT and for the most part most of the other websites/youtubers are on my shite list. GN has content but man it takes a long time to get to the point.

Yea those are good sites and some european ones also like Der Bauer, Coreteks, Digital Foundry, Techtesters,... I tend to google in youtube for reviews now and come across new ones all the time for a change of pace.
 
I like the Netherlands lady as well. Forgot her channel but she seems to get all the good stuff :manches:
 
The part about billet labs is awful and deserved its own video.

Not only was their coverage of the block a joke, they then fucked things up even more and auctioned off the thing at LTX.

GN responding to the Linus forum post.

IMO, Linus needs to step away from all reviews and pretty much just be around for fun videos. He has royally screwed this up, he's lied to us all, and cannot be trusted to be in a position involving review content anymore. I'd almost go as far as to say... he should step away entirely... but I don't really think LTT is completely ready for that yet. Even if he has expressed that he feels he should step away (He's almost retired from videos a couple of times already)

I don't know how people can go to LTT or JayZ for reviews? These are stupid channels with wrong or misleading content. JayZ builds are something I do watch from time to time but for day 1 reviews or any real product advice, I never take him seriously.

Overall I actually like this being called out and LTT needs to go away. It is not fun, it is not engaging, it is a shill fest misleading customers. It may have hit a chord 5-6 years ago but today it is a bloody joke full of his own product marketing garbage.
 
I've been away for far too long because I agree with KAC :P

Nnever understood how and why LTT has grown to be the size it is nowadays. From my perspective most of his content is at best annoying and he cannot hope to compete with the likes of GN, DerBauer et al. when it comes to indepth analysis of anything. He's more like a clown than a reviewer.
 
IMO, LTT is more of an infotainment channel, kind of like how Top Gear was compared to other shows, so the target audience is not really the same as the "real" tech channels.
 
Coreteks chewed into both of them for something that is really basic... the conflict of interest that is being sponsored by a company and a given product and then reviewing it...

Maybe the whole reviewer/influencer industry needs a rethink:

 
How are these companies supposed to survive if they cannot run relevant ads though?

It's not like they can run makeup adds on their channels.
 
Well that escalated quickly. Saying calm your tits to a woman in workplace? Wtf? Are these guys still in 1980s.
 
Timing might be suspect as why would she say it now and not before? Some of what she says begs credulity. You'd have to go back 50 years to be that much of dinosaur in treating women. Im sure if any of it is true she'll have no probs getting witnesses.
 
The audio from the all staff meeting held after she left has been leaked for awhile. During it, James can he heard making a sex joke... Like no, the culture is trash there. She's very likely telling the truth.
 
Staff meeting audio and transcript further establishes that this was not a small thing for the company.
Of course she came out at this time when her credibility will do MAX DAMAGE! Any nerd nub knows that.
