Getting tired of MS office

And am considering trying out other email clients (including webmail) and so far I'm looking at:
-Thunderbird
-WLM
-Inky

I need POP support and these three seem well received.

I'm just wondering what alternatives you folks use, as I'm looking at changing to office 2013 or 365 in the near future, and am not particularly keen on either...

Other productivity software isn't as much an issue at the moment, mostly getting away from MS for a bit.

Cheers :)

Thunderbird + calendar plugin is what I use for email.

Also, you can configure Gmail to retrieve mail via POP if you want.

I've been leaning that way, more out of a sense of familiarity though. Didn't know if there was anything better out there now because it's been 90-93 years since I've used Thunderbird....:bleh:

For personal use or in the office?

In the office, depending on how things are setup, Office > anything else.

For personal use, there are a number of options. For small business use (like, really small), there are a number of options as well :)

Trial out some stuff, see what's what... roll on from there.

Remember, there's always snail mail :bleh2:

All personal use on this one Saz - Good opportunity to see what else is out there. :)

Yep, installed Thunderbird yesterday. It's come a long way, perfect for what I need. :)

I'm going to give Libre a shot for word processing too. It's gotten some great write ups lately.

I use Libre Office. It does everything I've needed of it.

I started using Libre Office more recently, but that's largely a replacement for things like Word, Excel, etc... For email I have tended to use Thunderbird. I had used Outlook Express for a time, back in the days of Windows XP and the like; but newer versions of Windows, think I did run into some issue importing my older email archives from a storage folder off on an external HD, so made the switch over to Thunderbird... Before then, used Netscape mail....
