im gettin bored of fps. they r good but u can only play em so much b4 they get boring. im still playin ut believe it or not but i hardly do anymore.
basically what i am lookin for now is a good adventure type game. something that is similar to zelda(n64), and not all futuristic.

do any of u play these types of games on your pc? if u do what is it and where can i check it out?

well, theres always Medal of Honor. Return to Castle Wolfenstein. Ghost Recon. Operation Flashpoint. Tribes. Tribes 2. Alien vs Predator 2.

i guess u missed the point of this thread or i didnt make it clear.

i am bored of fps and want to play a game with a style similar to zelda but on my comp.

the only 1 i found was soul reaver 2 but the demo doesnt work with my 8500 and i am not buyin it with out playin it 1st.

Soul Reaver 2 is a great game and it works perfectly on my Radeon 64 VIVO. The only problem is the amount of time you have to play sometimes before you get to a save point. Also, there is no way to skip past the cutscenes (which are very well done), so you have to watch them all the way through. Some are 5 minutes or more!!

um... er... Black & White? That's definitly different. An RPG (one from the Baldurs Gate series maybe)?

Try something totally different, install Linux. I guarantee you will be at that for days (that is, if you never used it before).

I noticed the swords in Zelda, so if you want something with adventure elements like that then Gothic for pc will knock your socks off. Cool castles, towns and landscapes. And amazing night time graphics, rain, changing weather, lightning effects, even the moon rises and moves very slowly across the sky. Felt like I was in a real live swamp in the Swampland region, at night. Day time land & building graphics are not as detailed up close, but still pretty decent overall. Lots of fighting orcs, humans and monsters. It's got bows too, besides dozens of blade type weapons, and spells for fighting too. And dozens of people to talk to. You can talk with almost anyone in the game, not just text, but audio character voices.

Classified as RPG, it came out in the last couple months. But it's fully 3d, in 3rd person. You can look all the way up and down and all around while moving. No net play, but gamers in US, Germany and other places are going nuts over this game even though it's singleplayer. I guess the detailed lighting FX in the sky would've resulted in really choppy netplay or whatever reason they didn't go web multiplay.

Get yourself a copy of ePSXe and go buy some old PSX games, it had all the great RPGs and adventure games that'll never come to the PC(and with an 8500 you can make them look really nice too).

Dragonsphere

Dragonsphere

Get Dragonsphere if you can find it. It is a Microprose adventure game made around 1995. It is one of the very best adventure games ever made.

Go to this site for old abandonware games. They have no warez here.
