Gears of war Ultimate edition DX12 title

Remember the old GoW PC release, if you managed to get the installer to work or finish and the game actually started you'd be greeted with constant CTD's or GFWL crashes.... Then there was the promised DX10 patch that never materialized because they stopped support after a month.

It also shows AMD is getting behind Dx12 more than Vulkan?
That is a totally moronic move, if so, Vulkan has Mantle DNA and is poised to be the de-facto next gen API because of its multi-platform support and similar dx12 coding, and perhaps even performance but we will see, imo AMD seams to be awfully quiet about it.

I'm saying this because they were late to the party on final Vulkan drivers, being beaten even by Intel ( AMD released a beta Driver in the same day Vulkan was released tho ) Nvidia is already better than AMD on Vulkan LinuX, from what i'm reading (openGL all over again?) Nvidia does more talks, papers and best practices on Vulkan, that i can see.

This is making me really worried about how AMD is behaving with Vulkan, is like they are here to please Microsoft or something instead of looking to the future.

If its anything like AOTS radeon will carry the day. Scary to see the 290x almost as fast as the 980ti in some tests.

After seeing that benchmark i regreted not buying a 390 but after 30 minutes or so i realized that a change brings a new perspective, a fresh air.As an 1080p player i don't bother.

Also the same is valid for Rise of tomb raider..After some patches seems AMD 380x, 390,390x just ahead of nvidia. The thing is this is an nvidia game.

Good scores for Radeon on TR! Im more and more impressed looks like Radeon is making that long comeback its been known to do in the past!

Unlikely frankly.

Putting aside the 'lateness' of Vulkan, it won't be on all platforms - MS platforms will still need/want DX12, PS4 has no plans for it afaik (and given they have a lower level API it would be crazy; see GL on PS3 to see how well that worked before), Apple have no support on OSX, iOS is Metal and Android needs new drivers so GL|ES is going to hang around a while yet.

Don't get me wrong; Vulkan has some cool stuff in the little bit I've looked at and when I get a chance I'll be using it at home - but DX12 got here first on Windows and is likely to rule the roost once more going forward.
(Unlikely OpenGL however atleast Vulkan is a viable non-**** alternative this time around...)

Requires 60GB hard drive space? That's A LOT of baby poop brown textures...

I played the old PC Gears of War several times...colors on screen are actually white, black, grey, a weird greenish thing that isn't green...a weird reddish thing when they use blood...that's all I remember.

Played Gears of War on xbox and...slight improvement on color...brown is usually what I remember from Doom 3 and Quake...RAGE had a little bit more colors...

Anyway why don't they actually invest in making this a REMAKE given that this game has been played out...why isn't the effort that the dev that made Metro 2033 Redux being followed specially for a game which sold millions of copies.

Basically it's like they expect people to play a Dx9 game on DX12 PCs when Dx11 came out in 2009 hardware wise.

It's what sucks about these devs.

Played coop with a friend from start to finish in DX10, never crashed. DX10 just added 4xMSAA that worked properly with deferred rendering afaik.
