Going on now for 8th year! I hope it has helped you as it helped me keeping my backlogs in check while enjoying my games.

Not every month someone will be finishing a lot, as there are months where a person just can't finish anything. Then you got that streak going in another month.

Also, if you plan to replay the game, it is fine but don't repeat it at a later month as first completion is what counts.

Another thing is the criteria of what is considered completed in unclear games such as team based multiplayer games; I would say set a target for that. E.g. I considered Overwatch completed when I reached level 100. Or when I finished story mode (which was a long movie sequence) in Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator. You decide what you consider is completed as long as it is reasonable to a certain extend and correlate-able to a single player experience.

DLC completed at a separate time from the main game and has enough content (+1 hour) can be counted as a separate completion.
Console completions can be accepted as long as the main focus is still PC overall.

Completed Games:
755-The First Descendant
756-Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree Expansion
757-SNK VS. Capcom SVC Chaos
758-Under Night In-Birth II Sys:Celes

Sorry for the delay. 4 games:

755-The First Descendant: New go to online chill game. Nice eye candy.

756-Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree Expansion: Best expansion ever. +100 hours during my first playthrough.

757-SNK VS. Capcom SVC Chaos: Nostalgia trip to a janky figher. For collection.

758-Under Night In-Birth II Sys:Celes: An anime fighter that can go crazy. Still learning the ropes. Can't know with shoulder surgery, for a little while.

Looking forward to the rest of the posts. August post shouldn't be as delayed.

3 for me in July

Anger Foot
Nobody Wants to Die
UGH! (1992) retro game that I finally finished 3 decades late

Three Two for me this month:
  • Deliver Us the Moon. First time playthrough of this puzzle / narrative game. I really liked its atmosphere, and look forward to playing Deliver Us Mars in a while.
  • Grand Theft Auto 3. Replay, because I wanted to know how well it holds up. It took me a while to get back into the groove, and get over the jank that comes with 20 year old design. But I ended up finishing it again, and having a blast. Still my personal favorite GTA game (even though San Andreas is the better product). This is an August finish.
  • Call of Duty. Replay of the very first game that started the franchise, because I really loved it back then but haven't spent any time with it for the better part of 15 years. Ran through the campaign, and since I played it very close to Halo: Combat Evolved, found out the hard way that Halo's combat really was so much better than Call of Duty's "random" gameplay (random insta-kill mortar grenades, distant snipers hitting hard, running through enemy fire and getting hit... or not).
Spent the rest of my gaming time on Assetto Corsa Competizione. I've already got at least one game on the board for August, so see you next week for the next thread. 😅

Escape Simulator - The quality of the rooms varied but I enjoyed it well enough. After a break I'll give some of the community content a try.
Exit 8 - Short game that has you looking for anomolies in your environment. Actually a few creepy moments.
Tinykin - Cute exploration adventure.
Killer Frequency - Narrative puzzle game as you try to save callers from a slasher. Surprisingly effective.
Tales of the Neon Sea - Point and click cyberpunk. A bit uneven in puzzles and story telling but decent enough.
The Collage Atlas - Short but rather good looking exploration game.
Attack at Dawn North Africa - Simple but very playable strategy game.

Seven overall with a usual bunch of abandoned titles and ongoing sessions with stuff like IL2 and Truck Sim.

2.
Mafia III DLCs: Got them for free years ago and just now decided it was time. Spent a lot of extra time getting achievements at the end with lots of grinding with the grow house and would have not thought it would take so long to go 50 miles in a specific car. The DLCs themselves are barely worth playing, so I'm very glad I didn't pay for them even if I did mostly enjoy the main game when it was new.

Deep Sky Derelicts: Would not have guessed I'd enjoy this one but I did. Simple exploration/loot-card turn based battle game.

Beat 5 games in July:
Kena: Bridge of Spirits
Mario Wonder
Portal: Revolution
Dave the Diver
Mario vs Donkey Kong

Now playing through Resident Evil 3 remake and Advance Wars 1 and 2 (Switch)
