"Imagine...If ATI would even have a furry mascot....like a small furry monster....with screensavers....or small PR games where they actually SHOW what the 8500 is capable of doing of...it would be an huuuuuuuuuugeeee PR thing since people imediately would associate ATI/the radeon with its features...... "Whow...look at that cute little furry thingy !""

Any coders out there want to have a go?

You could base it on some already existing character like Sylvester the cat, or Donkey from Shrek, or even Tottoro - a cute Japanese character.

My post is only in support of it.
For an example of where I am in learning opengl, I havent even been able to make a cube.
But I have made a triangle! :)
That was really something for me! :)
Wow seeing that triangle in fullscreen was really really something.

I still remember getting my first triangle on the screen in Glide, nothing beats that happy feeling :)

Btw. you mean a triangle or a "tetraeder" (pyramid ?) :) Shouldn't be that hard actually...

I remember my first cube in my own, custom, from-the-ground-up 3D engine on my Amiga 500, so there! All you young whippersnappers with your "3D APIs" and whatnot....in MY day, we made extremely basic 3D objects with shapes we specified by math, not drawing tools, and spent ages debugging it to where it could rotate. We'd never heard of your fancy "textures" and all that new-fangled "highfalootin-bit color" nonsense, and we LIKED it that way.

OK, we didn't really like it that way, but I felt like complaining about all my wasted effort in coming up with that in high school when they went and made all my ideas obsolete by doing it in hardware. :hmm:
