Fry's.

Why are there so few and none near me. They had the Denon AVR-X3300W for $479.

Damnit!

The MSRP on this thing seems overpriced ($999). I got my Onkyo TX-NR757 with the exact same featureset for $650 or so a few months ago. @ $479 though I agree it's a deal. Sorry you can't get in on it.

I really want that one.

It's nice, but I've had 3 receivers in the last 3-4 years and none of them are without issues. Probably comes down to HDMI/HDCP though, don't know that there is a receiver I could've purchased that wouldn't have issues.

I'll say this:
connectivity (# of HDMI ports)
auto lipsync
power per channel

Are all very positive points for this particular model.

i live 20 minutes from Frys

I used to live right on the border of beantown, I would just drive down the hill and I would be at Frys about once a week. It's great for little electronic components I need, but usually Amazon or Newegg would have most of the other stuff for cheaper, though they have some amazing clearances on speakers and such, if you can snag the last pair. Though now I live farther north so I only stop there if I am going to Ikea.

I live 5 minutes from Frys... it's the one that's across the street from the AMD headquarters. I like to imagine that they make the chips there and then walk them across the street to be sold in the store.

I use Amazon as well unless I need something ASAP.

 that's a little too close.

Hope it works for you. I've been burned on open box a number of times. Enough that I don't think I could really do it again.

It's working great and looks like new. Yamaha will honor manufacturers warranty for open box items when purchased from authorized dealers. When I asked a OneCall.com agent they stated the same. Apparently Denon/Marantz will as well. Onkyo (and therefore probably Pioneer) would not. Not sure on Sony.
