FS 2024 Announced, with a bunch of new cool stuff to do . . .
Microsoft Flight Sim 2024 revealed a massive array of activities we’ll be able to take part in as aviators in the game. That included firefighting, search-and-rescue, helicopter cargo transport, air ambulance, agricultural aviation, mountain rescue, skydive aviation, aerial construction, industrial cargo transport, remote cargo ops, VIP charter service, air racing, glider piloting, scientific research, and experimental flight.

Still no Project Corona recoveries, but with activities like these, it's within the realm of possibility.

Cool stuff. I wonder if it'll be better optimized?

I remember when UT2004 came out, and was dramatically better optimized than UT2003. I had a computer at the time that couldn't really handle UT2003, and then BAM! No upgrade required!

Sometimes they don't update much. E.g., the cockpits were similar from FS 2004 on. They may not update the architecture much and add a bunch of cool objects and activities. Thus, it may not be too bad of a performance hit. Hopefully we'll find out sooner than later.

I heard it might have the Dune ornithopter.

The Ornithopter is for the current version, DLC coming out in November. Not sure if it will be free or paid though.

Much as I like the idea of more activites in FS I;m not sure I want to buy a new version. We'll see as more details come out.
