File Scanning?

If I want to batch scan a large number of files at a particular HEX address for ASCII characters for a certain integer number of characters starting at and proceeding from that HEX address, is there any utility that could assist in extracting this text data?

Basically, I just want to parse a large number of files between two hex addresses to extract their ASCII data.

Any thoughts, other than custom-coding something myself?

Found my answer with native Win32 ports of some GNU utilities. HEAD and TAIL do what I need.

You should already be using Linux or OS X and you wouldn't have issues like this :P
