Error using ATI software after upgrading to MMC 7.7 and Catalyst drivers

I updated to the new catalyst drivers and to MMC 7.7 as well. When I try to start the ATI DVD player I get the Windows XP Error reporting screen with the explanation window showing the following:

AppName: atimmc.exe AppVer: 7.7.0.4 ModName: aticore.dll
ModVer: 7.7.0.6 Offset: 0001bd4e

I'm guessing this has to do with the dll file, but I have no idea how to fix it. Any ideas out there?
