Is anyone else having problems with dual monitors on 6093 for XP? The second monitor is working but I can't extend my desktop onto it, whatever I do it just stays as a copy of the primary monitor!

I have had nothing but problems with the ATI drivers and my dual monitor setup! Couldnt get it to work with 6093's and had graphic problems as well with 6093's so went back to 6071's and after about an hour of messing around it works again. Dont have a clue why. But when something more offcial comes out I bet I have to mess with it another few hours before it starts to work right again. My problem was, I have 2 different monitors at different settings and ATI's driver sees the monitors as the the same monitor driver causing both monitors to have the same settings. Only way it works for me is having the 2nd monitor use the XP defualt monitor driver. And getting XP to lose the monitors real driver is another story. DOnt know how it stopped but XP quit looking for the right driver after about an hour and a half of screwing around with it.

Yep, 6093 multi-monitor support under XP is all screwed up.

They added the DCC check again, but halfway this time, so even though you can see the monitor in clone mode, if you don't have a P&P monitor there is no way to extend the desktop or use it as the primary monitor. That means no hardware overlay, no DVD playback.
Why even bother fixing the gamma then?

Nice job ATI.

Yep, this must be my problem. I use a crappy 14" just to have Outlook open in, and obviously this is not PnP. It only works in clone mode :( Oh well, 6071s still giving good performance for me.

My secondary monitor is an HDTV.

So, I'm thinking of swapping cables and see what happens.

Just reinstalled xp. Do you have lcd monitors?

I have nothing but problems with any ATI driver and my 2 different monitors. I have a 21" sony crt and a 15" Samsung LCD and getting it to work right and keep the different monitor settings is a joke. I believe if you have 2 of the same monitors your troubles would be no where near as great because the ATI drivers seem to think that both monitors are the same. Anyone from ATI reading this please look into this problem!

Swapping cables does no good. As long as one of your monitors is non-DDC it's not going to work. Even worse than before.

Hopefully the non-betas or Omega's or some other one will work correctly for dual-monitor setups.

Just resurrecting this thread to moan that I still have this problem with the catalysts. 6071 is the newest driver that works for me with my 14" as 2nd monitor and extended desktop. Is ATi going to address this problem???

Hey I hear ya guys.

Hey I hear ya guys.

Same prob in Win 2K :(. But hey I'm sure they'll get right on it. I now have some faith in ATi. Now off to fix my jedi knight 2 problem, damn parse errors to hell.

Why dont you fill in a CATALYST CREW form instead of asking people in the forum what ATI will do?
