Okay, lots of details here. Let me see where to start.
Running Windows Vista Ultimate x64. (well, PROBABLY not the problem, but info anyway)
I have a Westinghouse LVM-42W2 42" 1080p 1920x1080 60Hz monitor that I have connected via DVI-D to a Powercolor 4870 512mb using the Catalyst 8.10 beta drivers.

I just bought and received an HP 22" 1680x1050 swiveled LCD monitor hooked up via DVI-D to the 2nd DVI port on the same 4870.

What I want to do is run Vista Media Center HDTV on the 42" screen (at 1920x1080) and show my Fantasy Football Statracker scoreboard on the rotated (1050x1680) 22".
So far, I have tried going through the Catalyst Control Center to enable the second monitor, which seems to drop my 42" to 1680x1050 resolution, and clone everthying to the 22", as if they are the same screen. Something else to note, the mouse movement becomes very slow and erratic as if the system is being overly taxed by something.
When I select the 2nd monitor, and check the "Extend My Desktop to this screen", both screens start blinking off and on. Worse yet, when it does this, the mouse seems to re-center itself to the middle of the screen making it impossible to click on anything to try to stop the blinking. All that can be done is to hit the reset switch on the PC (and 'cuss a little).
I have also tried accessing this through the Display Options inside of Windows Vista. I wind up with the same problem. Blink Blink Blink ('cuss 'cuss 'cuss).
I'm pretty sure I've tried locking both screens to 60Hz (via Catalyst Control Center) which they should both be able to handle.
In both cases, the second desktop never seems to appear. It only shows the same desktop on both screens and blinks.
I may drop a similar message on Rage3D to help maximize my chances of fixing this problem. Can anyone here provide a nugget of information to help me out?
Many thanks in advance!
