I'm getting higher than normal cpu usage for dwm.exe when watching videos(and among doing other things) on secondary monitor. I've also noticed the problem when running the deferred shading program here- http://www.humus.name/index.php?page=3D&&start=8- although I believe any graphic intensive program will do. On primary monitor when running the deferred shading prog, dwm cpu is near 0%. On secondary monitor, it stays at 25%(a full core on quad core setup). With video, using WMP(win8.1) dwm cpu usage spikes up and down, not a whole lot but more then necessary. I thought the problem went away with catalyst 13.12, but I replaced an old monitor and started noticing the problem again. The latest betas both have the same problem also. I've also already sent bug reports to AMD(no response from them). And I've already searched and read many things about similar type problem(s) but don't have a solution.
If anyone wants to help diagnose this- you could run the program above or watch video, and see what the dwm cpu usage is. I discovered though that if I run flash video in fullscreen on primary monitor while video or other program is running on secondary monitor, the dwm cpu usage will go back down to normal levels. But if I do something to bring the taskbar on top of the fullscreen flash video, the problem comes back. Interesting, at least to me. And it's not a huge bug, but something I consider a problem since dwm will be taking away cpu from other things you might need.
Thanks for any help.
setup- intel i5-3470, 8 gb ddr3, radeon 6570, 24" and 19" monitors
