drivers & performance

blahs... the new drivers make my ati radeon laggy.... blah blah..i think ati should work on performance, in their drivers, as well as image quality

They've done it again.

Time to wake up and smell the coffee, this company will NEVER provide us with drivers that work, no matter what OS we're using. Or maybe they will release working drivers when this card is two generations old. Radeon 8500 has been out for almost a year now but still no decent drivers. I can't use hw-acceleration in DVD's nor play Q3A with this crap.

The 6043 official XP drivers work very well with hardware acceleration. Haven't had a problem with RTCW (Quake 3 engine).

I do agree that some further fixes would be nice, but at least they have drivers that do work well enough . . . though that's no excuse to slouch.

I agree with DDM_Reaper20

ATi's drivers have only been improving since the beginning

sine the 6043 drivers, everything has worked more then excellent over here...

My response was aimed at the discussion about the Linux drivers. Didn't realize that I had to open my eyes when I got out of bed this morning. :) LOL.
