I have a question my last use of driver sweeper is last 3months, it damage my windows fonts, is the driver sweeper is a priority to use whenever complete uninstall amd drivers?

My last steps as of 3months ago..
1. expres uninstall
2. safe bot the use driver sweper then after ccleaner
3. delete all folders of amd or ati and also regedit

My question is should i ignore using driver sweeper for total complete uninstall?

Never had a problem with Driver Sweeper before especially it doing something with the system fonts.

I have had a problem (many over the years) with ccleaner and the last time I ever used it I had to do a complete reinstall of Windows to fix what ccleaner screwed up.

So I would say that in your step 2 don't run ccleaner and you should be good.

EDIT:

Opps, forgot... use this instead. It's the replacement of Driver Sweeper.

I think driver sweeper was killed long ago, no updates for years now. Asking for trouble if you run it imho.
But ddu works great and is far more up to date

I'd avoid Driver Sweeper and go for DDU. In my case it has worked very well in several occasions. Puts your machine and OS in a pre-videocard state, nice for a fresh start

Found it I was having probs searching... DDU puts everything into a folder save the exe...

I put the 290 in with the omegas but its not working right. Im trying to locate older catalyst drivers as the omegas CCC only sees the cpu not the gpu... amd only has the november beta besides the omega for the 290??

It was a huge problem for SP1
I haven't needed anything but the AMD uninstaller built in the Catalyst

That was years ago, when the program was called Driver Sweeper. It has been upgraded since, and is now called Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU). This is no longer an issue to be worried about. It was updated on December 16th, two days ago. It is still being supported and updated.

I stopped using these types of programs a long time ago. Haven't had an issue since. At most I'll have ccleaner scan the registry.

DDU is not driver sweeper, its a different program.

it was not "upgraded", as it its not the same developer or program.

Hmm, I could have sworn I read that it was. Oh well, the advice is the same. Don't use Driver Sweeper, use DDU instead if you need to.

Me too. I don't use any thing any more but CCleaner and Defraggler and I don't ever have any problems with my PC.

I have never had a problem with CCleaner in all the many years I've been using it. I have a few family members that have me do their PC maintenance and I insist they have CCleaner available as well. Those have also had no system-related problems.

I do, however, make sure I get the latest version whenever it becomes available.

As for installing AMD drivers, I very rarely even uninstall before installing OTT of the previous version. In this particular case...with the Omega drivers, I did do a complete uninstall prior.

If it matters at all, I am an Intel-based PC user through and through. While I have used AMD-based systems, I've never bought one for myself.

May I ask why you need sweepers?

I have not specifically uninstalled drivers
for almost a decade, always though AMD did a great job
uninstalling by itself...
