Driver feedback a JOKE!

ATI's driver feedback program is a total joke! It is there for
appearance only, to make it LOOK like ATI really cares what you
think. I'm guessing that ATI has only one driver programmer
(surely they wouldn't do this bad with more than one...?), and
besides being somewhat clueless, there is no way he will ever
see what is sent to the driver feedback program!

The REAL world dude!
Stuff like this pretty much always comes from the PR department.
(You even get a chance to win something!)
Just another way to try and improve the company's image.
You don't actually think the driver people will read the stuff
sent do you?

Consider this forum to be the best possible feedback mechanism to ATI short of calling their support line... ATI is regularly browsing the rage3d forums. Dont expect a response from them, but expect them to have seen it.

I think it is probably rare, if not complete exaggeration, that one person would garner such a concerted effort from the technical support staff. Seems a little unbelievable to me.

So in other words you are basing it on what you percieve to be 'The REAL world' (dude). Another way to improve the company's image? Yeah... that way would be accepting and encouraging feedback on the hardware and software they produce, which they are doing. (wether you choose to believe it or not). That way would be talking to their customers sometimes on a case by case basis, which sometimes their technicians do. Perhaps you should crawl back under the booby trapped conspiracy theory rock you came out from under.... oooh but maybe it's not a rock, maybe it just LOOKS like a rock!

ya know if you hate ATI and think that low of them then go blow $400 on an Nvidia card and enjoy inifite loops and shitty Anisotropic filtering and the lack of DX8.1 compliancy.

how the **** would you know?? I myself used to speak with no less than 3 people at ATI. Each knew be my name and always made sure that the issues i had were at least looked at.

two stupid trolls who have done nothing but flame ppl and flame ATI. grow up, get a life, and learn something about the 'real world' before you comment again.

exactly, nvidia users get a lot of random reboots and infinte loops. Not many or hardly anyone gets random reboots with ati cards!!
in my opinion I think random reboots is a serious problem, because just imagine.. working on a essay for hours and there is a reboot or blue screen.... I wouldnt be too happy.

So you guys think the driver programmers will actually READ your
the feedback you send through their driver feedback program?

Heh, ya right!

This is not a burn on ATI, it's a burn on ALL large companies.
This kind of thing always comes from the PR department to try
and improve public image, and that's all.

This discussion is ridiculous. It's all about trends. You don't possibly think ATI can respond to every stupid inquiry or "complaint" that comes across their mailbox. I can only imagine.... Anyway, major issues will be identified quicker and resolutions to these "global" issues will be addressed in hopefully a more timely manner. As far as your "PR" comment is concerned, all I have to say is: YOUR DAMNED IF YOU DO, YOUR DAMNED IF YOU DON'T.

should I stop now guys or should I keep posting more recent convos that ive been having with ATi to help deal with SP1 and HW DVD issues?

kbleft still think im full of bull?

I also have all the books on the x86-64 architecture from AMD

if anyone doesnt believe I have those and am studying the way apps and systems will interact with the hammer line of products im more than willing to scan an image of the books or hey after next payday ill get a cheap cam and take pictures of me with them.

I have friends and contacts in the industry......this isnt even using them at all.

this is just from pming and emailing developer relations to get things fixed

trust me there are ways to contact ATi rather easily

Some people have difficulties figuring out the meaning of "private correspondense". There is a good chance that, as a result of this "outing", I will be officially forbidden by my employer to participate in this forum. In that case, I trust you will all know who to thank for it.

If those posts were made without permission, I suggest the mods take them down if the original poster doesn't... (unless I'm missing something in the forum rules) There is such a thing as private correspondence!

Cheers, Joey.

BUSTED! hopefully somebody can DELETE this thread before anyone of importance sees it!

We appreciate what ATi does for the community and some people just don't get how hard it is to design drivers and whatnot. Not matter how much they do it's never enough.

Keep up the good work ATi, but fix your servers before the next Catalyst offering :)
