It keeps BSOD'ing on me whenever I switch multiplayer servers. I even tried compaitbility mode... Anyone else experiencing weird CS/XP problems?

uh huh

uh huh

I use CS on XP all the time. For the crashing between servers, try disabling page-flipping in the ATI drivers. I think its an added bonus Valve gave us with our overflow patch. I am NOT running in any special compatibility modes, command line:

-32bpp -console -noipx -numericping

Ill try that, thanks. Yeah I also get BSOD's with "paged fault in nonpaged area" errors, wtf does this mean?

Runs fine for me also....
Windows XP with 6043 (And 6052) drivers....

I would say you got problemos........:)

Works just fine for me too. (xp 6043's)

Also..don't use the compatibilty modes. It will just cause more problems...

Ok, I'm gonna try a fresh install. Btw is installing XP display drivers anythign like 9x/ME drivers? I'm not sure if I'm doing it right.

So after I got the driver installed right, I'm gonna install CS, patch it to 1.03, then install the ATI overflow patch. This is the right order and I'm not missing anythign right?

Thats should be it.... DX8.1 comes with XP, so thats done...

1. drivers for ATI.
2 install HL
3. HL upgrade
3. CS
4. CS patch.

Your on the right track.

Thanks bud. Actually I figured out all I needed to do was disable page-flipping under OpenGl stuff... weird. It works fine now.

Hahah remember how I pWned you last time we played (though your ping was terrible). :D Speaking of which, know any good servers so that I may astound you yet again with my skillz?

Okay, I'm bringing up this post, sorry :(

It most likely is your fastwrites in your BIOS setup. Try mess around in the BIOS, maybe you'll get the key to the lock sooner or later.

I posted a thread in the games forum cause I had a similar problem. Thanks for the advice on disabling page flipping, that seemed to do the trick.

It was messing up in 12x9 but disabling page-flipping seems to have cured it. Thx.
