Does anyone know anything about these speakers?

THX is just another excuse to put money in george lucas's pocket. so don't bend over backwards to get a system that has THX.

i had a set of altec lansing's and after 4 months, the static was so bad, i had to shut them off to play games. i am never buying altec lansing speakers again, nor will i reccomend them. i would say wait for the klipsh's, i've heard them and they are sweet. or for the same price, you can get the speakers i have, midiland s4 8200's... IMO dolby digital 5.1 is much cooler than THX.

as long as you don't get the altec lansings, you'll be happy with the klipsh or midilands.

if you want to check out my speakers, go here.. http://www.midiland.com/proddetail.asp?linenumber=31&category=Home Theater

you can get both sets of speakers on www.outpost.com for the same price, and you get free overnight shipping. i HIGHLY reccomend you get your speakers there, rather than wait. i also HIGHLY reccomend you listen to a set of speakers before you buy them. i know best buy and comp usa sell the klipsh's, i don't know of any retail stores that carry midilands though. so it'd be a gamble. i would consider myself sort of an audiophile, and i have no complaints.

hope that helps!

[edit] the price for the midiland on that page is MSRP price, they are $299.99 on outpost, same with the klipsh

Yay okay I bought the Klipsch 4.1's because the other local shop didn't have the Altec Lansings in stock and I didn't want to wait, and I figure that the Klipsch "look" better anyways, ( more classy and I can keep them for longer, match decor) and that I can buy optional speaker stands or wall mounts in the future. Oh yeah and they sound good too.
