I just got it off here 209.187.72.151 anyone know if this is RC1? I'm going to upgrade my 2474 with it tomarrow, will doing an upgrade slow preformance? Also does anyone know which files control the OS selection at boot?

it's basically 2486 but it has no traces of it being beta anymore (no build # on the desktop etc.)
and they added some new sounds

No, it's not RC1, 2502 is out and it's not RC1 either

Don't know about the performance differences between 2474 and 2495, I nuked 2474 immediately, it wouldn't support Logitech Mouseware (I believe 2486 was the first build that did).

I believe MSDOS.SYS (it's a hidden, system file) controls multi-boot options, but it's easier to use a 3rd-party app like Powerquest Boot Magic.
 
Oops that's BOOT.INI

You can edit it manually or rt-click My Computer, properties, advanced tab, Settings (under startup and recovery), Edit.
