Diamond MX400 woes...

Okay guys, any help here?

I got my hands on a Diamond MX400 souncard for my g/f and decided to install it...everything went fine, but now, after a little playing a game, the audio gets all muddled and broken...

In some games there will be sporadic, loud POPS and then the audio seems to be so overdriven that it's almost like it's coming through a CB or something...very nasty sound.

At first the sound is golden, then something terrible happens...but what?

I suppose no one knows (or cares ;]) then...

Try new drivers, the card has very bad driver support. Try to use the Terratec DMX drivers.

maybe your pci slot for the soundcard is sharing IRQ with another device. it may need it's own IRQ. try moving the card to another slot or use the bios to ensure it's on it's own IRQ

Had same problem with MX300 update the drivers
