Diablo II: Resurrected - Beta

probs. i doubt many of us are in the beta. Honestly, i'd say pre ordering anything blizzard is risky these days, let alone a remaster after the **** that was warcraft 3.
 
They just recently pulled TCP/IP capabilities, which sucks. I get the reasoning behind it, but they did promise it originally. I'd rather them have just said no from the beginning rather than get our hopes up. There's a ton of backdoors that allow hackers/cheaters to bring their cheats onto B.Net, so I'd rather not have TCP/IP access than deal with that. I'm in the Beta but I likely won't be able to play much at all.

The Alpha was awesome and nailed the feel of D2 while modernizing it. I enjoyed every second I played.
 
Will probably give it a go tomorrow, what’s the use of tcp/ip other then hacks? If it’s online and works, that’s all I really care about.

Edit: absolutely no chits given about local games using tcp/ip.
 
The beta doesn't have the only class I'm interested in (Necro, never played the others). So I'll wait until release.
 
Worth boning? Never played Diablo before 3. 3 was good for a romp but I rarely replay games so after first round there was not much to do.

Is there a demo on Series X? Will try tonight.

Public beta starts on the 20th.

And he'll yeah it's worth it. Just keep in mind that is inventory system etc are dated. But it's oh so good.

Its funny, I never played anything before D3 either -- lots of buddies tried to get me to play D2 just never did. I played alot of D3 10 years ago but now I can see love for D2 after playing resurrected for a couple days.

The mechanics of loot and levelling is superior to D3 -- still a mega click fest but much more strategy involved.

The only criticism I have is sound effects and animations need some more "ooopmh" -- difficult to describe but when you hit/kill something the effects are a bit melodramatic if it makes sense? Otherwise its amazing what the did in refreshing this game.

With the original game running underneath that's exactly how it was. Would have been nice if they remastered some of that but overall I don't mind.

Music is a lot better in II.

Music is awesome, and I understand thats "how it was" -- just only bit to me that is a bit underwhelming in 2021.
