Looks to be a spiritual successor to the old Novalogic games. I played BHD and Joint Ops for over 10 years back in the day. The remaster of Black Hawk Down maps looks good but some vids seem a warmed over COD game. Remains to be seen if they can make something modern with the vast maps the previous games had. Free to play has some misgivings right off the bat as well, tho being this is from Tencent it shouldnt be a low budget outing.
 
I didn't play a lot of Delta Force back in the day, but I thought the games were much more tactical? This looks like "we have COD at home" hyperactivity.
 
Not as tactical as Arma but moreso than COD imo. I expect things to change up a bit due the huge time lag since the last game came out in 2004 but I hope they keep it simple as a shooter. The charm of DF was its natural organic way the gameplay evolved with large maps and large number of players. up to 150 on a map.
 
The Alpha version of the game has been out for a few days and most reports say its very BF like... bit dissapointed to read that. Havent gotten a key to play myself. Some reviewers liked it but caveat being how they will run their FTP model.

Nice to know the wider beta test in October might finally be able to try this one out.
 
Finally played the beta (alpha?) tonight. Its very much like COD/BF. I can see some folks like that tho. Not everyone liked the insanity pepper super sized maps that old school Delta Force had. Or its slower longer range run and gun game play. Rifles are pretty terrible at medium range and the FTP aspects are all over the place. Some elements of the DF game seems to be there like sniping. Some missing like autorun. Ill still play the single player game when it comes out and hope that one stays free as well. Odd thing couldnt set resolution or aspect ratio. Maybe a beta or MP thing to keep everyone on the same page. The first game mode (Havoc IIRC) had AI bots popping in everywhere. Probably just a bug. The team conquest mode had the typical spawn points. 100+ FPS seemed fine on a 7800xt with max graphics.

I rate it 5-10 for now. Ill see how it goes.
 
Played a bit tonight but froze out of the game couple times... hate these online only single player games. Saves are at end of the chapter and there are only 7. Unreal 5 is very nice on the eyes and not hard on the gpu at least in this case. Cant set the resolution tho which is odd... I think I was running 1440p and everything else was set on ultra and running min 60 fps. I might have to get a fps counter to get around the panel 60 hz limit in the radeon software to see how fast average it really was.
 
Too difficult is the main complaint as well as the lagging out in a few areas/scenes. A good idea but ideally would have liked it to be more freeform and not forced Coop (sure can play alone but too hard for that).
 
Took me 3 tries just to get down to the first floor of the first building LOL. Felt a bit like Rainbow 6. Ill try again in a while see if they fixed the lagouts but Id bear that with a proper savegame feature.
