Deleting old ATI files

I fly airplanes
Ok.. (Radeon 64DDR, WinXPpro) Installed the enw catalyst drivers.. things got messed up.. so I tried reinstalling.. things still messed up.. Other than uninstalling the display drivers from add/remv progs.. How do I delete old files? everytime I search and find them and try to delete them, windows won't let me..

any ideas?
 
you need to install the drivers for a standard agp/pci graphics adapter then you can delete the *.ATI files
 
Oh.. so uninstall ati drivers.. then select a windows default driver.. then it will allow me to delete?
