Could you help me with Half Life?

Hi:

I got the cd with retail 8500. After installing the game, I can only play multiplayer game.

Is there any way NOT to play it as a mulitplayer?

You are going to have to explain the problem in a little more detail. Like if you are having an overflow problem with single player and what version you have ( lastest is 1.1.0.8 ). Anything would be helpful....

The guys here are really good at problem solving but you have to give them better details.....
