Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

#1 bestselling game on Steam right now. Played it for a few hours and can see why it's getting rave reviews. Almost immediately it feels like a callback to a time devs were given enough budget to put their passion into a high production quality game, releasing a final product based around their vision.

There are some minor technical issues they have to sort out but so far I'm quite impressed.

Thanks for the first-hand review. I was just about to post an article quoting David Gaider of Dragon Age. I'll have to pick it up soon.

I've been playing Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, and wow... so far, it's kind of to JRPG's what Baldur's Gate 3 was to CRPG's. It's beautiful and polished and well-written, and the turn-based combat is so fun! Though I cannot believe I *just* discovered what you need Lumina points for. 😅David Gaider (@davidgaider.bsky.social)2025-04-29T11:11:52.564Z
